Snyder Photos, Part I

A hunter killed an albino buffalo ten miles northwest of Snyder in 1876.

With the Beacon Lodge's  tag line promising the splendor of the 50's, how could I stay anywhere else?

This incredible old Sinclair station on US 180 was a highlight of the town.

Here's a view from another angle.

Here's a close-up of the gas pumps.

There was another pump island just to the left of the canopied pumps pictured above.

The station was located on a narrow triangle of land. The Sinclair sign stood near  the point

However, this was no longer a functioning gas station. It was a flavored ice counter (closed when I was there). Notice Dino, the Sinclair dinosaur, with a straw in his mouth. By the way, what kind of flavor is " tiger blood?"
