Snyder Photos, Part II

There was a statue of a white buffalo downtown next to a plaque honoring hunter J. Wright Mooar.

Another Snyder welcome sign featured the three pillars of Snyder's economy: oil, cattle and cotton.

This drive-through bank (" auto teller" )  had a  unique appearance.

The restored Ritz Theatre was on the courthouse square. Also notice the strange mushroom-shaped canopy on the left with benches in the shade underneath them. There were several around the square. I imagined that they were intended to spruce up downtown in some misguided beautification plan, but they just looked weird.

Here's a close-up of the Ritz sign.

The Travelers Inn was in sad shape, but the sign was still standing.

By the time I went to the Beacon Lodge to check in, the skies were threatening.

This view is from the interior of the circle made by the motel's six buildings.
