Magdalena Photos, Part I

Magdalena Mountain stood south of town.

Magdalena was the end of the line for a Santa Fe Railroad spur. Consequently, it was the end of the trail for cowboys who drove their cattle in from the west to load into train cars.

The old Santa Fe depot, repainted in its original colors, was now the town library.

The Boxcar Museum wasn't open when I got there.

The Magdalena Hall Hotel, recently reopened as affordable housing,  was home of the Old Hotel Deli.

The Ponderosa Restaurant was right  across the road from my motel, but it wasn't open.

The Salome Store was one of many old buildings in downtown Magdalena.

Well, for whom did you expect the Catholic church in Magdalena to be named?
