In the Midwest, we call them drive-throughs or drive-ups, but in Texas and New Mexico, they're often called " motor banks."

The Val Verde Steakhouse (in the Val Verde Hotel) was one of the fanciest establishments in town. " Reservations Suggested," according to their ads.

Harold's Southwestern Gifts & Curios offered a broad array of souvenirs and other merchandise.

The north side of Harold's had this painting of an Indian scene.

This was another view of " M" Mountain as I was leaving town.

The Ark of Socorro was on the west end of town.
