Selma Photos, Part IV

Bridge To Freedom Memorial Park on the east side of the Edmund Pettus Bridge was only a year old.

The Civil Rights Memorial Mural was painted on the side of a building facing the park.

There were numerous memorials to participants in the Selma-Montgomery March.

Finally, this was the infamous Edmund Pettus Bridge over the Alabama River.

This bridge was  where demonstrators were stopped and attacked by state troopers the first time they attempted to march to Montgomery.

I took more pictures from below, just because I like bridges.

Besides, this was the most famous bridge I had ever crossed on my bike.

One last picture--did I mention that I like bridges?
