This sign was a tease...

I still had to go around a curve and up a hill before I reached the actual town.

The Palo Pinto County Courthouse was definitely the highlight of the town.

However, the old jail was pretty interesting, too.

This former gas station just off the courthouse square was home to an insurance agency.

The Palo Pinto Cafe was closed and for sale. The County Seat Grocery & Grill (and motel) across the street (not shown) appeared to be thriving.

This classic sign may not have lasted much longer depending on the fate of the cafe.
