This is Edwards Rocket Base and Air Force Research Laboratory where rocket engines have been tested since 1952 (part of Edwards AFB). The largest tower was used to test the Titan rocket engine.

The Desert Lake Motel was converted into apartments. Again, there is my pet peeve: a saguaro in the wrong desert!
