This was as close as I got to snow-capped Sierra Blanca in the Sacramento Mountains. At 12,000 feet, it was the tallest mountain I saw on my trip, albeit from a distance. |
No trip to the West would be complete without some sort of encounter with that legendary hybrid, the half-jackrabbit and half-antelope " jackalope." More great New Mexico clouds completed the scene. |
The highest point of my trip so far was Indian Divide a few miles west of Capitan. There I met a man in a white pick-up who told me all about the area. |
