Day Thirty-Seven Photos, Part I

This Sinclair station near Lake Arthur  probably closed when  US 285 moved to a new highway a few miles to the west.

Here's a close-up of the sign featuring Dino.

The Right For Life Animal Sanctuary camper  was one of the few sights  between Lake Arthur and Hagerman.

There was an irrigation ditch alongside the road in front of the Hagerman welcome sign, which touts alfalfa, cotton, chilies and dairies. Also note the twin water tanks proudly displaying the high school team's nickname.

The old and the new: I wondered if the video store rented the movies painted on the Felix Theatre's marquee.

You know you're in a small town when... the grocery store sells car batteries.

The Hagerman Bobcats had an impressive list of state championships, most recently  football and track in 2000.
