Day Twenty-Four Photos

This was a view on SR 34 between Kaufman and Ennis. Off in the distance to the left is the bridge over the Trinity River, which runs roughly from Dallas to Houston.

The popular Lone Star is incorporated into this sign for Ennis, " Where Railroads and Cotton Fields Meet." Ennis is also known as " The Bluebonnet City of Texas," but I was a month too early to see them in bloom.

The old Ennis depot now houses a visitor's center.

The Ellis County Courthouse (1896) in Waxahachie was fantastic but undergoing repairs.

This is a close-up showing the intricately detailed  top of the courthouse. The Texas Historical Commission has a special section of their web site dedicated to the state's historic courthouses.
